My Solution to the Oil Crisis

Image
I got this published in the Anderson Independent-Mail, and more recently the Greenville News, about a month ago. Right now I'm brain dead, and can't think of anything to write...so I'll just post this. Hopefully my mind will wake back up...or I'll go see a movie. Enjoy! .............................................................................................................................................................................. I remember the first time I filled up my ’02 Chevy Cavalier around the holiday season of 2005. It cost a whopping $1.98 per gallon. Oh, how I wish it could go back to those days. I remember even further back to when I was too young to drive (but sure had the ambition) and it was really the good life, with gas at 98 cents per gallon. What a difference a few years and a couple of thousand miles make. Now in the Upstate, we could be seeing gas at $3 per gallon for the holiday season, and it gets worse across the country — and the wor

The Final 1st Down

The season is over!!! LSU has won the national title (1-0) and Georgia won their game versus Hawaii, making me 2-0 in the big game picks. Also, Appalachian State, Valdosta State, and Wisconsin-Whitewater all won their respected division championships, putting me at 4-1. For the entire bowl and championship week(s) I went 22-13. Another season has came and gone, but this may have been the most entertaining season...ever. It started with the App State upset over Michigan, and just kept going. Illinois upset Ohio State, Stanford upset Southern Cal, and apparently nobody wanted to be #2 this year, as it seemed every week that team was getting beat...by an unranked team! This year was strong, and even though the bowl season took way to long-I'd make the requirement 7 wins, and cut any bowl not played on Dec.21-it was still good for the fans. So what of next year, well, here is some things I look for next year. 1-Georgia will win the SEC 2-Michigan will win the Big 10 with Rich Rodrigue

A Belated Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Okay, so I'm a little late. Anyway, hope everyone had a safe new year's eve and even better new year's day.(I spend mine watching football) Just thought I'd go back and review some things that happened in the year that was 2007. 1-Boise State's upset over Oklahoma, which started this chaotic season of college football. I can only wish the 2008 season is as close as exciting. 2-Florida beating Ohio State for the BCS Championship. 3-Oregon State won the college World Series over North Carolina. 4-Florida won back-to-back men's titles in basketball, the second over Ohio State. 5-App State beats Michigan, Stanford beats So. Cal, along with the oddity that nobody wanted to be #2 in the college football polls, or #1 for that matter. If anyone can think of anything else, please add to the comments section. A short one today, because I'm still recovering from New Years. Hope you all had greens and black eyed peas on New Years Day (old southern tradit
