Conservative Evangelicals have it wrong...again

Image
Can you feel it? It is election season fever, and it has been going on it seems since President Bush was elected. Okay, so it has just been going on for the last three years. We have already had many debates hosted by CNN, FOX News, and Youtube. By now most people have a general idea of who they will vote for-or better yet, and sense of who they will not vote for. One candidate that has already seemed to lose votes is Republican Presidential hopeful, and former Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney -but do those that have stated they won’t vote for Romney have a valid excuse? Many Evangelical, conservative Christians have stated that they won’t vote for Romeny for one simple reason; Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Logic in this mindset is illogical at best. From a social standpoint, Romney is a conservative through and through. He is very much for marriage being between a man and a woman, is pro-life, doesn’t want to raise taxes, and has shown to be a good businessman; he erased a operating def

A Christmas Perspective

Just got done with my holiday shopping for the season. While out, I was compelled to write another piece. Seeing the hectic nature, unnecessary stress, and overall unseasonal nature, I thought of this. .......................................................................................................................................................................... "It's the most wonderful time on the year," says the famous Christmas carol tune. We are in the home stretch of the holiday season, and this should be the happiest time of the year. You wouldn't know it if you take a step outside. I always wonder, what happened to the true meaning of the season. No, I'm not just talking about the religous relevance of Christmas, Chanukah (to all my Jewish friends, I'm sorry if I mispelled it. Call me out if I did), and Kwanzah (to my Afro American brethren, call me out on the mispell to if I did it). All of those are special, don't get me wrong, but they ar

"I am Legend" Review

Image
Ever been speechless after watching a film? I was after I saw " Schindler's List ", " Children of Men ", and just recently " I am Legend " starring Will Smith. The basic plot of the movie goes a little something like this; There has been found a cure for cancer. Unfortunately the cure has an unpleasant side effect that turns all those that take it into vampiric, animalistic "zombies" that can only come out at night. Flash forward three years later (2012 A.D) Robert Nevielle (Smith) is the last human alive in New York City. He is occompanied by his faithful kanine Sam. During the day, Neveille attempts to live life the best he can, all along waiting and praying for some survivors. At night he has to contend with the mutated infected, all while trying to find a cure using his own immune blood. What ensues is a mix of post-apocolytic, zombie laden thriller mixed with a survival flick and seasoned with top notch acting from Smith. The vast shots

Bowl Pics 2007-2008

This will be the last post for the college football season. It has been a fun, exciting year to say the least. The App State upset over Michigan , the Stanford win over So. Cal , the good season by Kansas , and the good season by Indiana . The way that being #2 was the worst thing to happen. No doubt, one of the most unpredictable seasons in recent memory, if ever. I'll be breaking down the National Title game with LSU and Ohio State , the Sugar Bowl with Georgia and Hawaii , and the Clemson vs Auburn game. I'll also predict the rest of the bowl winners, and the winners of the lower division title games. National Title game LSU The Bayou Bengals got here with a tough defense, powerful offense, and some gutsy, and questionable, coaching decisions. After a heartbreaker against West division rival Arkansas (or Ar-Kansas as Les Miles put it), the Tigers were able to come back and beat Tennessee in the SEC Title game. The offense puts up about 39 points per ga

Playoffs would work in Divison I-A Football

Image
There are skeptics that say a playoff would never work in DI-A football, but I highly disagree; just look at DI-AA. Here is my skematic: You take the conference champs from each conference (because everyone deserves a fair shot if they win their conference). Just looking at this year, you would have LSU (SEC), Virginia Tech (ACC), West Virginia (Big East), Ohio State (Big 10), Oklahoma (Big 12), Southern Cal (Pac-10), Central Florida (C-USA), Central Mich. (MAC), BYU (Mount. West), Hawaii (WAC), and Florida Atlantic (Sunbelt). That is 11 teams right there. Next, you would pick 5 wildcards to make it a 16 team field. Just for the sake of the argument, I'll attempt to pick 5 deserving teams. If you don't like it, insert your own. 1-Georiga. No one in America is playing hotter than these guys, they go in. 2-Virginia. Yes, they finished second in their division, but they are a tough ball club. 3-Illinois (already beat the current #1 in Ohio State) 4-Texas (quietly had a pretty str
